Honorary Visiting Research Professor Position

The National Institute of Fundamental Studies established by an Act of Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in 1981 pursues basic scientific research. Among its aims and objectives are to initiate, promote and conduct research and original investigations into fundamental studies with particular emphasis on mathematics, physical and chemical sciences, life sciences, social sciences and philosophy, each taken in the broadest sense.

The National Institute of Fundamental Studies invites applications from distinguished scholars for the position of Honorary Visiting Research Professor.

This honorary role is designed for eminent academics and researchers with a proven record of high‐quality research, publications, and academic leadership. The selected candidates will contribute to the research programs of the NIFS through collaborative projects, seminars, lectures, mentorship and academic engagement.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A PhD in relevant discipline

  • Distinguished academic/research record with evidence of high-impact publications

  • Active involvement in ongoing research activities
