Kaveesha Premasiri is currently a Research Assistant in the Natural Products Chemistry project, reading for his M.phil. Degree, at the National Institute of Fundamental Studies. He obtained his B.Sc. Honours Degree in Chemistry from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in 2024. His current research focuses on isolating and characterizing bioactive compounds from medicinal flora and endophytic fungi. His research interests include the chemistry and bioactivity of natural compounds and the investigation of extracts from plant sources and, endophytic fungi, for use in agriculture and human health.
