The NIFS Library was established in 1985 with a small collection of books and journals donated by Professor Cyril Ponnamperuma, well-wishers, and the Asia Foundation. Today, the library includes over 6,900 books, monographs, and edited volumes together with about 120 journal titles spanning a wide spectrum of sciences.
Visitors have access to internet facilities, photocopying and scanning services, and quiet reading spaces. The collection includes scientific newspapers, magazines, textbooks, monographs, edited volumes, periodicals, newsletters, and annual reports from local and foreign institutions.
All NIFS members, permitted outside researchers, and students are allowed to use the library facilities.
All NIFS staff members are eligible for membership until cessation of employment. Membership can be obtained by submitting the completed application form together with a copy of the appointment letter from NIFS.
