Ishara commenced her career with the MAS Family.

Subsequently, she assumed the role of Internal Audit Assistant at E.B. Creasy & Company PLC. Founded in 1878, E.B. Creasy & Company PLC is a conglomerate holding company in Sri Lanka. In 1967, it acquired Darley Butler & Company, one of the oldest companies in Sri Lanka. The conglomerate went public in 1968 and was listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange. E.B. Creasy & Company stands as one of the largest conglomerates in Sri Lanka, boasting a brand value of LKR 1,538 million in 2019. It secured the 71st position in the LMD 100, an annual list of quoted companies in Sri Lanka in 2019.

During Ishara's tenure at E.B. Creasy & Company, she accumulated nearly three years of experience across nine sectors, primarily focusing on subsidiaries such as Darley Butler and Company, Laxapana Batteries PLC, Pettah Pharmacy Pvt Ltd, Lanka Special Steels LTD, and Ceyflex Rubber.

 In 2023, Ishara transitioned to NIFS, where she currently serves as an Internal Audit Officer.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in Finance, achieving a Second Class at the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka.

Additionally, she has completed Business Level One and Business Level Two at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Sri Lanka, including training. Currently, Currently, she is pursuing a Corporate Level.
