Prof. Lai Oi-Ming

Honorary Visiting Research Professor - Food Chemistry

Prof. Lai Oi-Ming has been appointed as a Hon.Visiting Research Professor in the Food Chemistry Programme of NIFS. She currently holds a full professor post at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, University Putra Malaysia.  Her research interest mainly focuses on the development of structured lipids, food authentication analysis, and cosmeceuticals development from local resources. To date, Prof. Lai has supervised 20 PhDs and 14 Master's Degrees. Her research work has resulted in more than 200 articles in leading international journals and 16 patents in Malaysia and elsewhere in the world. As a high profile scientist of multiple awards, Prof. Lai is the recipient of the prestigious National Academic Award for Innovation and Product Commercialization in 2019.
