Extent covered: For the on-going 2022 Yala Season, Biofilm Biofertilizer is supplied to about 80,000 hectares (200,000 acres) of paddy cultivation, in Kurunegala, Gampaha, Galle, Kilinochchi, Vavuniya, Mannar and Mullativu Districts under the Government’s subsidy programme.

Biofilm biofertilizer is the Most Technologically Advanced biofertilizer product being applied to the largest land extent of paddy under the Government’s biofertilizer subsidy programme.

Annual Production Capacity of Biofilm biofertilizer is 1 million litres (i.e. for about 1 million acres, which is about 30% of annual paddy cultivation of the country).

Biofilm biofertilizer products are available for Paddy, Tea, Vegetables and Maize.

Outside the above-mentioned districts, the product is also available in Fertilizer shops in following districts - N’eliya, Ampara, Puttalam, Kalutara and Colombo.
