Since 2019 the NIFS collaborates with Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, in exchange of staff and students, research and teaching collaborations,joint scientific publications, Exchange of academic materials, organising symposia, short courses and workshops.Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) is one of the largest higher education institutions in Norway. HVL was formed through a merger between Bergen University College, Sogn og Fjordane University College and Stord/Haugesund University College on January 1 2017.

This collaboration will continue for five years and both institutes will be benefited through cultural and scientific interaction to the development of their educational and research activities.
